Hyalex is an award winning, venture funded orthopaedic medical device start-up company based in Lexington, MA that is developing the HYALEX® Cartilage materials platform – a transformational synthetic cartilage technology and implant system for diseased and injured joints. It is our mission to address shortcomings of current treatment options to improve patient quality of life so that we all can Be Active, Stay Active™.

Our Story

As with many start-up companies, Hyalex was born out of a serendipitous meeting between co-founders conducting cutting-edge research in the fields of chemical engineering and biomaterials. A coffee meet-up at Stanford University led to a series of ‘what if’ discussions, which led to innovation at the intersection of multiple fields, pushing the boundaries of traditional orthopaedic materials, to create a ground-breaking new materials platform… HYALEX® Cartilage.

Meet the Team

With world-class leaders from the medical device, orthopaedic, and cartilage fields, more than 150 years of combined experience in successful medtech commercial product launches, and an exceptional group of top-tier advisors, investors, and advocates, Hyalex Orthopaedics is uniquely positioned to bring HYALEX® Cartilage to patients.
